What Does “Class A” Mean?
Building codes rank materials by how they behave in a fire, and Class A is the best rating — the one codes usually require for anything covering walls or ceilings in schools, hospitals, offices, and government buildings.
The test measures two things: how fast flame spreads across the surface (the Flame Spread Index) and how much smoke the material gives off (the Smoke Developed Index). Lower is better on both. NaturaLux scored 20 and 20 — comfortably inside the Class A limits (25 or less for flame spread, 450 or less for smoke), performing like top-rated interior building materials in a standardized test.

The fire test was run by HPVA Laboratories — an independent lab in Sterling, Virginia, accredited to the international ISO/IEC 17025 standard and recognized by building-code officials (International Accreditation Service Testing Laboratory No. TL-224).
